UUID Generator & Validator
Generate cryptographically secure RFC 4122 v4 and v1 UUIDs in bulk. Customize hyphens, casing, braces, quotes, prefixes, and inspect UUID validity 100% client-side.
Generator Settings

Hardware-Seeded Entropy
Generated using crypto.getRandomValues() and browser CSPRNG. Safe for database primary keys, session tokens, and distributed IDs.
100% Client-Side Privacy
All UUIDs are generated directly inside your browser session using standard Web Crypto APIs. No tracking, zero cloud requests.
CSPRNG Cryptographic Entropy
Conforms strictly to RFC 4122. Version 4 features 122 bits of cryptographically strong randomness with guaranteed variant and version bits.
Developer-Ready Formats
Export directly as JSON arrays, SQL insert statements, comma-separated lists, or custom-quoted strings with one click.
How it works?
Choose Version & Count
Select Version 4 (cryptographically random), Version 1 (date-time based), or Nil, and pick your batch size.
Customize Formatting
Toggle hyphens, uppercase or lowercase, enclosing braces or quotes, custom prefixes/suffixes, and bulk formats.
Instant Web Crypto Generation
UUIDs are generated instantly in your browser using crypto.randomUUID() and crypto.getRandomValues().
Copy or Download
Copy individual items in one click, copy the bulk formatted string, or download as TXT, JSON, or CSV.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a UUID (Universally Unique Identifier)?
A UUID is a 128-bit identifier standardized by RFC 4122. It is designed to enable distributed systems to uniquely identify information without central coordination. Written as a 36-character string with 32 hexadecimal digits separated by hyphens (8-4-4-4-12 pattern).
What is the difference between UUID v4 and UUID v1?
UUID v4 is generated using cryptographically secure pseudorandom numbers, containing 122 bits of randomness. UUID v1 is generated using a 60-bit timestamp (100-nanosecond intervals since October 15, 1582) combined with a clock sequence and a node MAC address, making it temporally ordered.
Is it possible for two generated UUID v4s to collide?
Practically impossible. With 122 bits of pure entropy, there are 5.3 × 10³⁶ possible UUID v4 values. To have a 50% chance of a single collision, you would need to generate 1 billion UUIDs per second for approximately 85 years.
Is GUID the same thing as UUID?
Yes. GUID (Globally Unique Identifier) is Microsoft's implementation of the UUID standard (RFC 4122). While identical in binary structure and entropy, Microsoft GUIDs historically formatted certain internal byte fields in little-endian order.
Are generated UUIDs safe and private?
100% yes. All generation occurs exclusively inside your local browser via the Web Crypto API (crypto.getRandomValues and crypto.randomUUID). No data or generated keys ever leave your device.
